Data Privacy Analyst

We are looking for a Data Privacy Analyst for a client of ours.

Responsibilities include helping the management in overseeing the comprehensive privacy framework and enabling us to strategically manage risk and proactively follow up on data privacy matters. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of the privacy program including assistance in response to identified issues. The successful candidate will work across the organization closely with an extended team of technical, legal, and operations resources to support privacy program projects and related operational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Document data processing activities conducted by the businesses and participate in new products, initiatives, or functions, due diligence risk management processes to ensure they address data protection and privacy issues
  • Proactively maintain weekly/monthly dashboards, registers, and reports to ensure compliance documentation and reporting are up to date.
  • As per request, write policies, procedures, and manuals for privacy-related matters so that businesses can execute.
  • Review and complete customer-supplied forms and questionnaires and data impact protection assessments
  • Provide support in data privacy-related guidance and support for the business, including providing guidance to partner-facing teams and answering inquiries
  • Follow and monitor workforce educational activities addressing access, use, and disclosure of private and confidential information and generally build a privacy-aware culture
  • Help respond to incidents and conduct data privacy risk/impact assessments
  • Possesses experience with and acts as a subject matter expert in data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPPA, COPPA, FERPA, SOPPA, and others
  • Collaborating with the Information Security function(s) to raise employee awareness of data privacy and security issues and providing training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; data privacy and/or security, strongly preferred 2-3 years of experience in privacy, enterprise risk management, compliance or security
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) preferred
  • Professional work experience must include the following: developing policy and compliance training; demonstrated understanding and application of data privacy laws; and working within compliance, legal, audit/and or risk function with recent experience in privacy compliance
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001 is preferred
  • Strong business acumen and experience with data-driven influencing and decision making
  • Comfort in technical project environments and ability to up-level to a business leadership audience
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership presence and communication skills, and able to exert influence at all organization levels
